There are many organisations and factions in the Martial Arts fraternity that are and always will be Amateur. This will never change as it is what they are. They are the foundations of our sport and respect will always be due to them. We owe them a debt of gratitude for keeping the sport alive and thriving as it is today.
With the introduction of cage fighting and MMA generally the divide between Amateur and Professional status is widening. As it widens there will be a greater need for a fighter register based on ability and purse. Pro Kumite sees itself as a transition tool for Amateur to Professional should any Martial Artist wish to use. A register will be produced within our hall of fame. This will enable the spectator side to see at a glance what level of fight they can expect when attending an event. It will also show the rise of individual fighters through well earned ranking and provide a register for up and coming fighter recognition on a global basis. It will display to other promoters that are looking for fighters for their events levels of experience and the minimum purse that would be expected.
Cage fighting is becoming increasingly more popular on a world wide basis. The high value purse is for those at the top of the sport. As fighter numbers increase those purses will get further away leaving the new arrivals to fight simply for the love of it. Pro Kumite believes that all fighters should be paid in accordance with the fighters ability and grading within the cage fight fraternity in very much the same way as they would have received a grading at amateur status. Pro Kumite will replace that grading with a purse and web based recognition for all to see 24/7 world wide.
Throughout this site you will find various forms that you can fill in and register for the Pro Kumite fight program, Judges, Referees, Affiliation and other aspects.
There are conditions with the main one being that you must already be affiliated to a Club, Dojo or other recognised Martial Arts organisation. The reason for this is to ensure the continued respect that is synonymous with Martial Arts training during transition from Amateur to Professional. It is this respect that will ward off the critics that consider cage fighting as a brutal activity rather than a sport and ensure that discipline remains of paramount importance.
Affiliation to Pro Kumite has many benefits that will not cost you a penny. All the benefits are from Pro Kumite with no catches. The affiliation is offered to Promoters, Clubs, Dojos and any organisation involved in Martial Arts.
